The story of Erik Laros

Delivery Schedules Are Not Made. They Are Organised.

Anyone can promise a delivery date.

But a delivery date only has value when you deliver on it.

That doesn't happen by itself. It requires planning, coordination and commitment.

Meet Erik

Erik Laros connects the people, disciplines and knowledge behind every AAApropulsion project.

Sales, engineering, procurement, production and service all have their own responsibilities.

His challenge is to ensure they work together as one team.

From Promise to Project Plan

A project doesn't start when the first components are ordered.

It starts with clarity.

That's why every project begins with a formal project kick-off.

Everyone is involved from day one: sales, engineering, production, procurement and the colleagues who will ultimately be responsible for execution.

We don't just discuss the schedule.

More importantly, we align expectations.

  • Who is responsible for what?
  • When does each milestone need to be achieved?
  • Where are the project risks?
  • What commitments do we make to one another?

At AAApropulsion we believe in one simple principle:

A commitment made is a commitment kept.

To make that possible, everyone must work from the same information.

Connecting People, Knowledge and Commitments

That's why I organise regular development meetings.

Not because there are problems, but to ensure engineering, production and the rest of the project team remain fully aligned throughout the project.

I believe people should keep talking to one another.

That's where misunderstandings are prevented before they become problems.

Because I understand the work of every discipline, I can actively contribute across the entire project.

I discuss customer requirements with Sales, technical solutions with Engineering, planning with Production and practical experience with Service.

In doing so, we don't just connect departments.

We connect knowledge and experience.

Within our Quality Management System, every project is managed using structured QMS progress reports.

These are exactly the same reports we share with our customers.

We don't create a separate presentation for the outside world.

We simply show our customers exactly what we see ourselves.

  • Which milestones have been achieved
  • Which actions remain open
  • Where the project stands at that moment

We have nothing to hide.

Transparency Creates Predictability

That level of transparency builds confidence in both the project and the process.

For our customers, it means predictability.

They don't just know when a project will be delivered.

They understand how we will get there together.

That allows them to coordinate their own planning and keeps surprises to an absolute minimum.

A good project schedule is much more than a delivery date.

It is a controlled process in which everyone is working towards the same objective.

A customer doesn't buy a Pod.

They invest in the confidence that their vessel will be ready to operate on schedule.

That confidence is built by people who work together, honour their commitments and stay in control of the project every single day.
