From Field Experience to Better Engineering

Before taking on my role as Production Manager at AAApropulsion, I spent many years working internationally as a Service Engineer for propulsion systems.

I commissioned new installations, resolved technical issues and experienced first-hand how propulsion systems perform in daily operation.

Not only here in the Netherlands, but at customer sites around the world.

That practical experience is something I bring into our production facility every single day.

I understand what an installation experiences in service, the challenges customers may face and the details that ultimately make the difference between a good system and an outstanding one.

When I had the opportunity to move into Production, I didn't have to think twice.

Here, I can apply my field experience before a propulsion system leaves our factory.

That's why I work closely with our engineering team.

Sometimes it's the smallest improvements in a design or an assembly process that make the biggest difference to long-term reliability.

Although I'm now responsible for Production, I still regularly visit customers for service, commissioning and testing.

That's important to me.

Only by seeing our systems perform in real operating conditions do you stay connected to daily practice.

Everything I learn in the field is fed back into Engineering and Production, allowing us to continuously improve every installation we build.

Quality Is Built from Day One

Many people see quality as something you inspect at the end of a project.

I see it differently.

Quality is engineered, built and verified from day one.

Throughout production, every step is verified and fully documented.

Not because our Quality Management System requires it, but because we want to know that every detail is right.

The most important milestone comes just before delivery.

That's when we invite our customer to participate in the Factory Acceptance Test — the FAT.

Not simply to receive a test report afterwards, but to witness the process first-hand.

Together, we test the complete propulsion system.

We demonstrate its performance, answer questions and carry out every agreed test.

The FAT is only successfully completed when both the customer and AAApropulsion are fully satisfied that the system performs exactly as intended.

After that, the Harbour Acceptance Test is carried out on board the vessel, followed by the final Site Acceptance Test shortly before the vessel is handed over to the end user.

Step by step, we build confidence.

Not through promises, but through proven performance.

Proven Quality. Lasting Confidence.

For our customers, it means complete transparency.

They don't have to rely solely on what we tell them.

They can see for themselves how their propulsion system has been built, how it is tested and how it performs before the vessel leaves the shipyard.

That creates confidence — not only in the product, but also in the people behind it.

For us, a seven-year warranty is not a commercial promise.

It is the logical result of careful engineering, controlled production and comprehensive testing.

We don't offer a seven-year warranty because it sounds commercially attractive.

We offer it because we understand exactly what our propulsion systems experience in daily operation.

That knowledge starts with Engineering.

It continues through Production and Testing.

And ultimately, it is proven where it matters most:

In real-world operation.

Real quality isn't demonstrated at delivery.

It proves itself in operation, year after year.
