Superior performance is never the result of a single component.
Two vessels may have the same installed power and operate on the same route, yet one consumes significantly less energy than the other.
Coincidence, hardly ever.
The difference lies in the way the hull, Pod, propeller, electric motor, control system and installation work together as one integrated propulsion system.
That is why AAApropulsion does not build standard products. Every electric Pod and Thruster is engineered for its specific application. Whether for a workboat, ferry, inland vessel or defence platform, every vessel has its own operational profile, operational requirements and performance objectives.
Optimisation starts long before production begins.
Using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), we analyse the interaction between hull design, water flow and propulsion. This enables us to optimise efficiency before steel is cut, resulting in lower energy consumption, improved manoeuvrability and, in many cases, more nautical miles per kWh.
But excellent engineering alone is not enough.
A propulsion system must integrate seamlessly with the vessel as a whole. That is why we work closely with shipyards, naval architects and system integrators throughout the entire project. Engineering, installation, interfaces, testing and commissioning are managed as one continuous process, ensuring every discipline contributes to a single, verified result.
